The Lancaster Baptist Church was organized on Wednesday, July 20th 1842 when a council of elders (Historically, our Baptist forefathers were led by a body of elders following the practice of I Timothy 5 and Titus 1) from the Gilbert's Creek Baptist Church and the Forks of Dix River Baptist Church was held to form a Baptist Church in the settlement of Lancaster. Three of the original group were preachers licensed by various universities.

In 1853 the Lancaster Baptist Church built it's first building. The bell that was rung on that first Sunday still hangs in our bell steeple today.
